The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme invites third level graduates (with any type of degree, in any field) to participate in international exchange and foreign language education throughout Japan. Since Ireland became a participating country in 1988, over 1,100 Irish people have contributed to and enjoyed the programme, including the 46 Irish JETS (12 from UCD!) who departed for Japan this July.
A former JET will be in Newman, room A106 at lunchtime today (November 5th) to deliver a presentation on teaching in Japan and how you too could get there too! The Jet Programme Ireland has 2 positions available. Come along today to find out more.
- Assistant Language Teacher (ALT): placed mainly in public schools or local boards of education to teach English. No Japanese ability required.
- Coordinator for International Relations (CIR): placed in local government offices to assist with international exchange activities at local level (Japanese ability required).
