Agape Adventures has three fully funded places in two different Maltese projects. These are year long experiences starting in September and funded through the Erasmus+ scheme.

Join a first class team who are working to ensure the beauty of Malta’s natural environment is maintained, and to spread the message of environmental responsibility on the island. The team focus on environmental education and marine rescue – protecting local dolphins and marine turtles with a 24hr rescue & rehabilitation service.

This is a wonderful opportunity to join a dedicated team who have been working on the island of Malta for many years caring for the environmental development, and promoting conservation issues & education within the local population. Their commitment is to the conservation of Maltese nature through the promotion of environmental awareness, managing areas of natural and scientific interest, and lobbying for effective environmental legislation.

Over the years the team has been successful in gaining legal protection for various plants and animals in the Maltese Islands, helping to save from extinction some of the local endemic species. Their particular area of focus is the rescue of injured marine turtles and stranded dolphins. There is a dedicated 24 hour duty rescue team on call who are all professionally trained.There is a strong emphasis also on education within the project – reaching out to the local schools and communities. Groups of children regularly visit the centre and get actively involved in the learning process, the lessons are hands on and encourage the children to care for the environment around them.

You receive: Training, Return Travel to Malta , Accommodation, Food allowance, Monthly stipend, Insurance cover and 24/7 support.

To apply you must be between the ages of 18-30, an Irish citizen & available to leave in September and stay for a whole year.

The staff are all highly trained and experienced, sharing knowledge across the various teams to ensure that the approach is truly multi-disciplinary. The state-of-the-art facilities compliment the programmes and services to ensure that people with disabilities have access to professional care, advice, training and therapy. Joining this team will provide you with a wealth of experience, opening your eyes to the amazing impact each therapy can have on any individual of all levels of ability.

You will have opportunity to assist in every area of the projects’ work, learning new skills along the way. If you are staying longer term you will be given the opportunity to specify which therapy area you are most interested in, and give time to focus on developing your skills further in this field. This project is a fantastic facility providing an array of therapeutic, educational and leisure services to children and adults with physical and/or learning disabilities, completely free of charge!Their aim is to support individuals & carers by focusing on activities that increase independence and inclusion.
