UCD EdTECx talks – discussing strategies, practices and solutions for applying educational technology to teaching

Dr Kevin O’Rourke from the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) launched the inaugural UCD EdTECx talks with his keynote address “Do we know where we are going to?” – a review of current trends on the role of technology in Irish higher education.  Over 120 UCD staff attended the two-day talks in March 2015 which included Pecha Kucha talks from UCD educational technologists and others, presentations by lecturers on assessment (including peer assessment), collaborative learning, digital content creation and emerging technologies.  Matt Glowatz of the UCD School of Business gave the closing keynote on The Educational Technology Tsunami, looking at technology from the student perspective.

A few participants gave their perspective on the talks in an impromptu vox-pop…

Further information on the talks programme and videos of the keynotes and the opening address are on the EdTECx website.
