5 Things You Need To Know About The Big UCD Skills Challenge

Have you ever been a member of a team that constructed a marshmallow tower? Explored from one side of the UCD Belfield campus to the other searching and completing fun and challenging tasks? UCD Career Development Centre in partnership with some of Ireland’s top graduate recruiters would like to introduce you to the Big UCD Skills Challenge 2018.

What is the Big UCD Skills Challenge?

Are you and your classmates up for a challenge? Do you have what it takes to succeed? The Big UCD Skills Challenge is in its fourth year and has been a hugely exciting and successful event. The Challenge involves an exhilarating cross-campus test based on three skills: teamwork, problem-solving and communication skills!

The event is open to all UCD Students. You can register a team of up to 5 members. Our advice for selecting team members is to find these guys (see right) you’re already onto a winner!

UCD Belfield Campus – Check out Careers Connect for more details.

Thursday 5th April 2018. The event starts at 9am. This is not an all-day event so no need to worry about missing those important lectures (we know you would be devastated if you did!!). The good news is that the various challenges can be arranged around your Academic Timetable. We will need as many of your team members to attend the Challenge Briefing at 9am and to be present at 1pm for the Teamwork task. This would be ideal but not compulsory.

How to register?

To get involved in this fun and unique experience, you can register your team for the at http://bit.ly/2tRn0ts . Closing date is the Tuesday 3rd April 2018. Be quick to round-up your squad and don’t miss out on an unforgettable day at UCD.

Oh yeah and did we mention that prizes will be awarded on the day?;

  • Each member of the 1st placed team will receive a €100 ‘One4All’ voucher.
  • Each member of the 2nd placed team will receive a €50 ‘One4All’ voucher.
  • Each member of the 3rd placed team will receive a €25 ‘One4All’ voucher.

Do you have what it takes to become the MVP of the Challenge (we know Tom Brady would be proud of this achievement!) or have the best team name (Smells Like Team Spirit or Victorious Secrets) are some of the favourites over the last few years. A number of spot-prizes will be awarded on the day, courtesy of our employer partners for the above categories and more.

Happy Big UCD Skills Challenge, may the odds be ever in your favor! 🙂
