Skills for Working Life: ‘Finding Work Through Social Media’

Social media iconsEnterprise Rent-A-Car gave a presentation in UCD on ‘Social Media and your Career Search’ in week three of the ‘Skills for Working Life’ course.

If you utilise social media effectively, it can give you the platform you need to start your career. The importance of looking after ‘your own personal brand’ is the clear message being given by employers to students. How you manage and use social media in pursuit of work and career development is different to how you use social media in your private life. However, not everyone understands how the professional and personal sides of social media can be managed well and it is important to realise that social media can be both a friend and foe in job search.
