Launch of Career Mentoring Programme

On Wednesday evening 4th February, the Career Development Centre in conjunction with Alumni Relations and the School of English, Drama and Film launched a pilot career mentoring programme which was held in Ardmore House in UCD.

Ten alumni from the School of English, Drama and Film have volunteered their time to act as mentors to ten student mentees of the School for the duration of the programme timed to finish at the end of May 2015.

Mentors are currently working in areas from broadcast journalism, teaching, academia, writing and the film industry with a few well-known names amongst the group, and participants have been matched based on areas of career interest.

The evening was an opportunity for everyone to get involved in some training sessions but also for mentors and mentees to meet each other.  There was a fantastic buzz to the evening and everyone was very positive about the launch event and excited about the programme ahead!
